About

Alma, based in the US, is a technology-driven platform that enhances access to mental health therapy by connecting clients with licensed therapists, fostering meaningful therapeutic relationships tailored to individual needs. Founded in 2018 in New York, US, Alma operates a platform that links clients seeking mental health therapy with licensed providers across various specialties. The company is co-founded by Alex Roberts, Harry Ritter, and Luis Messianu. In January 2026, Spring Health, a portfolio company of GingerBread Capital, True, Tiger Global Management, SemperVirens, Equinox Ventures Ltd, Able Partners, Northzone, British Business Group Vietnam, BBG Ventures, Work-Bench, Rethink Capital Partners, Saddlefire Ventures, North Sound Ventures, Rough Draft Ventures, William K.

Warren Foundation, and RRE Ventures, agreed to acquire Alma from Able Partners, BoxGroup, First Round Capital, Primary Venture Partners, Rainfall Ventures, Sound Ventures, Tusk Venture Partners, Insight Partners, Optum Ventures, Cigna Ventures, and Thoma Bravo. Alma provides a technology-driven platform that simplifies access to mental health therapy through a comprehensive directory of licensed therapists. Clients can find in-network providers who accept various insurance plans, reducing the cost of therapy sessions. The platform is designed to cater to a diverse client base, including those who require specialized support such as LGBTQIA+ guidance and medication management, while ensuring a safe environment for therapeutic relationships.

Alma's revenue model is based on a business-to-consumer approach, where clients connect with in-network therapists who accept different insurance plans. Clients typically contribute a copay per session, which is significantly lower when using Alma's network. The company partners with multiple insurance providers, facilitating affordable therapy options that align with clients' existing plans, thereby enhancing the connection between service users and healthcare professionals. The January 2026 acquisition enables Spring Health to create a stronger business through deeper connections with employers, insurers, and providers.
