Based in New York, US, and founded in 2020 by CEO Christopher Storaker and Nicolas Jaramillo, Smash Works Inc., d.b.a. Arch Finance is a decentralized finance (DeFi) company that utilizes decentralized asset management protocol to create well-diversified tokenized investment portfolios that individuals can buy using smart contracts and self-custody. In October 2022, Digital Currency Group and Softbank Latin America Ventures co-led a USD 5 million in seed funding for Smash Works Inc. with participation from DevLabs Ventures, Soma Capital Management, GBV Capital, Ripio.com, Platanus Ventures, and TechStars. The company provides a moderate portfolio platform that allows individuals to buy indices (a basket of crypto assets) through a single token, in a similar way investors buy ETFs to get broad exposure in the traditional finance market. The platform enables investors to have passive exposure to digital assets, allowing them to benefit from the growth of the industry. Arch Finance plans to use its proceeds from October 2022 funding to tokenize an extensive range of decentralized finance indices and to build the platform into a decentralized asset management protocol.
