Based in Seoul, South Korea, and founded in 2017, Dongbu Buslines is a passenger bus transportation company. It also engages in bus terminal operations, and real estate rental, management, and development services. Dongbu Buslines was first founded as Dongbu Express, a subsidiary of the DB Group in 1971. In December 2016, KTB Private Equity and Q Capital Partners acquired Dongbu Express for KRW 425 billion. In August 2017, Dongbu Express's passenger bus transportation business was separated from Dongbu Express and became Dongbu Buslines. In October 2017, Dongbu Buslines was acquired by Kiwoom Private Equity and Koreawide Partners. The company's main business is passenger bus transportation service. The company operates an intercity bus transportation service. The company also operates several bus terminals that are located in Seoul, Incheon, Suwon-si, and other major cities in South Korea. Most of the company's bus routes are towards the east of Seoul and cities within the Gangwon-do province. Dongbu Buslines also engages in real estate management and development business. It owns several bus terminals as well as lands and building sites around the bus terminals. The majority of the company's revenue is generated from bus transportation service and real estate management. In 2019, Dongbu Buslines generated KRW 51.236 billion. In January 2021, Kiwoom Private Equity and Koreawide Partners sold full ownership in Dongbu Buslines to Consus Asset Management. The underwriter of the deal, Consus Asset Management, also known as Wired Partners, is expected to generate revenue through developments of the real estate owned by Dongbu Buslines.
