Founded in 2016 and based in Beijing, China, Ecohuanyu is a water environment management company specializing in the treatment of water pollution and related services. Its team members came from the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the Chinese Academy of Environmental Sciences, Tsinghua University, and other scientific research institutions. Lieyu Zhang, the CTO of the company, is a researcher at the China Academy of Environmental Sciences (CAES) and graduated from the Institute of Aquatic Biology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). The company has more than 40 patents. In November 2017, Ecohuanyu closed angel funding from new investor Northern Light Venture Capital. Ecohuanyu's business includes urban polluted rivers and lakes treatment, ecological restoration of damaged rivers and lakes, sponge city planning and design, construction of wastewater systems, and treatment and safe reuse of artificial wetland tail water.
