Additionally, in June 2024, Blackrock agreed to fully acquire Preqin for GBP 2.55 billion in cash. The transaction is expected to close by the end of 2024. Preqin offers market data and information on alternative asset classes including private equity, venture capital, hedge funds, private debt, real estate, infrastructure, and natural resources, etc., that empowers clients to make data-driven, business-critical decisions. The company’s flagship product called Preqin Pro has wide data coverage, spanning investors, funds, fund managers, fund performance, service providers, portfolio companies, deals, and exits. Preqin Ltd. also delivers alternative assets data through APIs (application programming interface), plugins, data feeds, and mobile applications (available on iOS and Android devices) to assist clients in various activities such as due diligence, investor relations, fundraising and marketing, and market research. In addition, through Preqin Insights, the company provides the latest industry reports and data-driven analytics for its customers. Preqin Ltd. serves more than 48,000 customers including investors, fund managers, placement agents, service providers, advisors, investment consultants, academic institutions, and many more. Preqin Ltd. generates revenue through subscriptions to its products and services. Once the transaction with Blackrock is completed, Preqin will operate as an independent offering, but its data feeds will be integrated into Blackrock Financial Management's Aladdin and eFront. The integration with Aladdin will create an enhanced and unified technology platform.
