Based in California, US, and founded by Rajat Suri and Ashish Gupta in 2008, Presto operates as a provider of a front-of-house technology platform for restaurants. In November 2021, Ventoux CCM Acquisition Corp., a special-purpose acquisition company (SPAC), alongside Applebee's International, Inc., McDonald's Corp, Outback Steakhouse Korea Limited, REMUS Capital, and Yum! Brands, Inc., agreed to acquire Presto. The transaction will result in a merger between the SPAC and Presto. The transaction is valued at 70 million USD. Presto provides a tabletop terminal that enables customers to browse the menu, order, provide feedback, pay with a virtual payment card or mobile payment system, and a wearable device that alerts managers with information such as birthdays, food allergies, and customer loyalty status, and Presto A.I. that forecasts labour requirements and predicts guest preferences.
