Optima Asset Management (Optima) is a New York-based hedge fund manager founded by D. Dixon Boardman in 1988 in response to the 1987 market crash. As a high-net-worth financial advisor, Mr. Boardman sought investment solutions for clients that would provide substantial downside protection and significant upside participation in all market environments. In 1991, Optima introduced global strategies to complement its equity products, and then in 1999 multi-strategy products were introduced. The firm now offers a fund of hedge funds, bespoke separate account portfolios of hedge funds, and specialist single-manager funds.
