WestInvest was founded in 1989 as Rheinisch-Westfälische Grundstücks-Investment GmbH (RWGI) which was a subsidiary of WestLB. In 1998, the firm’s name was changed to WestInvest Gesellschaft für Investmentfonds mbH. Since 2004 it is part of the Deka Group’s real estate business division and currently 99.7% of the firm’s capital is held directly or indirectly by DekaBank Deutsche Girozentrale. As a capital management company, regulated by German Investment Law, WestInvest Gesellschaft für Investmentfonds mbH takes responsibility for the issue and management of real estate investment fund products. The product range includes open-ended mutual property funds and special funds. The business division’s aim is to consolidate its position as one of the leading providers of open-ended mutual property funds in Germany and as one of the top ten real estate asset managers in Europe by adopting a quality- and stability-oriented approach. The focus is on the offices, shopping, hotels and logistics segments.
