Private Debt Q2 2024: Preqin Quarterly Update

Our latest update on private debt reveals a more settled macroeconomic outlook, leading fundraising rebound to trend.

  • Fundraising was $50.4bn, ranking this the fourth-strongest second quarter of the last eight

  • The average size of a closed fund has risen to $1.5bn, and is much higher in the US than Europe

  • Direct lending, investors’ most favored strategy, was responsible for 88% of fundraising in Q2
