A round-up of last week’s global people moves at LPs and GPs around the world

LPs

  • London-based Arbuthnot Latham has hired Miles Kean as Director, Private Banking. He joins the wealth management firm from rival Coutts, where he served for over 23 years, most recently as Executive Director, Private Banker, Entrepreneurs Division.

  • Aviva Investors has appointed Steven Gardner as Head of Institutional, EMEA. He was previously at Berenberg, where he was Head of Asset Management Sales & Client Relations UK. Before that, he was Institutional Relationship Director at Jupiter Asset Management.

  • Poppy Allonby has been appointed CIO of the Church Commissioners for England’s £10bn endowment fund and will assume the role in September. She has sat on the endowment plan’s Board and Asset Committee since 2014 and was previously Head of ESG Enablement at asset management firm T. Rowe Price. Prior to that, she was the Head of Global Product Group at BlackRock.

  • Private credit focused investment firm Heron Finance has announced it has hired Khang Nguyen as Chief Credit Officer. He joins from banking platform Ampla, where he was Head of Credit and before that, he held a similar role at Rho. Heron Finance is a robo-advisor that allows individual investors access to private credit loans.

  • Asset manager State Street has promoted Taryn Siglain to Global Head of Financing Solutions, following the retirement of Gino Timperio after 35 years at the firm. She joined the firm in 2023 as Global Head of Prime Services and was previously Head of Americas Collateral Optimization & Secured Funding Trading & Execution at Morgan Stanley.

  • Swiss-based UBS & Credit Suisse has announced changes to the Group Executive Board, as they move to a single entity in the US. Iqbal Khan has been appointed as Co-President, Global Wealth Management (GWM), as well as the President, Asia-Pacific, the first ever based in the region. Rob Karofsky has also been appointed Co-President GWM, as well as President of Americas. George Athanasopoulos and Marco Valla have been named as Co-Presidents of the Investment Bank, joining the Group Executive Board, alongside Damian Vogel, who has been appointed as Group Chief Risk Officer.

GPs

  • Germany-headquartered fund and asset manager DWS Group has promoted Matthias Naumann to CIO, Real Estate for the APAC region. Based in Sydney, he joined the firm in 2013 as Head of European Real Estate Strategy and will be relocating from Frankfurt. Most recently, he has held the position of CIO of European real estate, as well as being Interim CIO, Real Estate, APAC.

  • Global growth investor General Atlantic has appointed Anand Agarwal has Operating Partner in India and Southeast Asia. He joins from Amazon, where he served as India Consumer CFO, and was previously Head Finance – South Asia for agricultural firm Syngenta.

  • UK-based mid-market private equity firm Inflexion has hired Kevin Adeson as Senior Advisor. He was most recently Vice Chairman, Global Banking & Markets at HSBC, and prior to that he created and led Morgan Stanley’s Leveraged and Acquisition Finance Europe business.

  • Solomon Eskinazi has joined New York-based healthcare-focused private equity firm Kain Capital as General Counsel. He was previously General Counsel and EVP of Strategy and Corporate Development for Excelsior Medical, leading the merger with Kain’s portfolio company, Rendr.

  • Francesca Collins has joined OMERS Infrastructure, a unit of the Canadian pension fund, as Director, Investor Relations, Strategic Partnership Program. She will be based in London and joins from InfraRed Capital Partners, where she was part of the Capital Formation Group, Product Specialist.

  • New York-based emerging growth equity and venture capital firm Silas Capital has hired Mary Murtagh as a Vice President in the Investment Team. She was previously a Senior Associate at consumer-focused investment firm CAVU Consumer Partners.

  • Bryan Johnson has joined private credit and secondaries firm Star Mountain Capital as Managing Director. Most recently, he was Managing Director – Strategic Relationships at AQR Capital Management, where he served for over 15 years. Before that, he was Regional Director at Dimensional Fund Advisors and Business Development Manager at Infineon Technologies.

  • Global private equity firm Starwood Capital Group has hired Matt Smith as Managing Director, Head of US Residential Asset Management. He was most recently Managing Principal at FrontRange Capital Partners, and before that, a Managing Partner in the real estate group at Brookfield Asset Management.
