A round-up of the latest private markets people moves globally

Limited partners
  • Canadian public pension fund OMERS has appointed Adam Buzanis as Head of Funds in its private equity platform. Buzanis will lead the continued development of its external funds strategy across primary, co-investments, and secondaries.

  • Toronto-based public-sector investment manager IMCO has announced changes to its leadership team, with three new Executive Managing Directors, effective January 2027. Nick Chamie will cover Total Portfolio, Craig Ferguson will lead on Private Markets, and Angus Botterell will focus on Public Equities. CIO Rossitsa Stoyanova will become Special Advisor.


General partners
  • Nordic private markets firm Niam Group has appointed Tim Crowley as Capital Formation Director in London. Crowley joins from Palatine Private Equity, where he was a Director in investor relations.

  • AGL Credit Management has appointed Michael Phillips as Managing Director in Abu Dhabi to oversee its expansion across the Gulf Cooperation Council. He was previously Head of Corporate Credit at the Abu Dhabi Investment Council.

  • Northleaf Capital Partners has announced key leadership appointments, hiring Michelle Joliat as COO, effective end of August. Joliat joins from Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, where she was Senior Managing Director, Product and Delivery. From October, Nadim Vasanji will become CFO and Head of Corporate Development, Jeff Lucassen will become Vice Chair, Finance and Operations, and Robert Smith will take on an expanded role as Managing Director and Global Head of Institutional Business Development and Marketing.

  • Churchill Asset Management has launched a Capital Solutions strategy and appointed two Managing Directors. Noah Charney will head up the New York-based team, while Robin Russell also joins. Charney previously worked at King Street Capital Management, Russell at Cyrus Capital Partners.

  • Tayeh Capital Group, a US-based private markets firm, has appointed Eliza Oshana McGrath as Head of Investor Relations and Capital Formation. She joins from Northern Trust, where she was Head of Alternative Sales for subsidiary 50 South Capital.

  • LA-based private investment firm Angeles Equity Partners has appointed Michael Knapp as Head of Business Development. Knapp joins from Levine Leichtman Capital Partners, where he was a Managing Director on the Investment Originations team.

  • Private equity firm Cendry Capital, an aerospace and defense specialist, has appointed Anthony J. Folino III as Senior Advisor. Folino was CFO of Graham Partners for more than two decades.

  • US growth lender Runway Growth Capital has appointed Michael Rovner as Co-CEO and Co-CIO alongside founder David Spreng. Rovner joins from BC Partners, where he was a Managing Director.

  • Global investment firm Battery Ventures has announced several promotions, including New York-based Brandon Gleklen to Partner and San Francisco-based Jason Mendel to Principal.

  • US lower-mid-market private equity firm GreyLion has promoted Drew Darling and Sean Gormley to Principal, Jack McMillin to Senior Associate, and Matt Kawko to Controller.

  • US-based One Rock Capital Partners has hired Ross Bushnell as Operating Partner. He was most recently President and CEO of Pixelle Specialty Solutions.

  • Paceline Equity Partners has promoted Jonathan Rosen to Partner. Rosen joined the Dallas-based private equity firm as a Vice President in 2019.

  • Cliffwater, an interval fund manager, has appointed Ryan Madani as Managing Director on its Cascade Real Assets Fund team. Madani joins from Partners Group, where he invested across private real estate.

  • Florida-based life settlements investment firm Corry Capital Advisors has brought on John Daniel as Director of Analytics and AI Strategy. Daniel has held financial analysis and consulting roles at First Horizon National Corporation and Highmark Health.

  • US-based alternatives firm QC Capital Group has appointed Joe Hart as Senior Vice President of Capital Markets. Hart will lead the firm’s expansion into wealth management and institutional distribution.

  • New York-based BTG Pactual Global Alternatives has hired Tim Garry as Director and Trader for its Performing Credit strategy. Garry joins from Tikehau Capital.

  • Mayer Brown has appointed James Clarke as Partner in its finance practice in London. Clarke joins from Baker McKenzie and advises on emerging markets, including private credit, export and agency finance, and structured commodities.

  • Akin has added Jonny Woods as a Partner in its London-based restructuring practice. Woods rejoins from Weil, Gotshal & Manges, and advises credit investors on cross-border restructurings and capital solutions.

  • Paul Hastings has hired Bevis Metcalfe and Kieran Sharma as Partners in its restructuring practice in London. Metcalfe joins from Hogan Lovells Cadwalader and Sharma from Sidley Austin. Both advise credit funds and other investors on restructurings, special situations, and capital solutions.

  • Debevoise & Plimpton has appointed Karen Chao as Partner in its investment management group in New York. Chao advises private equity firms and alternative asset managers on the formation, structuring, and operation of private investment funds.

  • DLA Piper has appointed Joshua Fox and Alexander Civetta as Partners in its emerging growth and venture capital practice. Fox will lead the firm’s Boston corporate team, while both advise start-ups, high-growth companies, and investors across venture financings and related transactions.

  • Paul, Weiss has appointed Peter Byrne and Tristan VanDeventer as Partners in its capital markets group in New York. They advise private equity sponsors, portfolio companies, and other public and private companies on equity and debt capital markets transactions.

  • Global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal has appointed Maureen O’Shea as Managing Director in its European private equity performance improvement practice in London. She will focus on operations, supply chain, and procurement.

  • Northern Trust Wealth Management has hired Candice Nakagawa as Managing Director, Family Office Solutions, West Region, based in LA. Nakagawa joins from Wilmington Trust, where she was Executive Vice President and Western Region President.

  • The US-based wealth management division of Rockefeller Capital Management has brought on the Jones Wealth Partners team from Merrill Lynch and opened an office in Columbus, Ohio. The team is led by Private Advisor and Managing Director Sidney Jones and includes Private Advisors Natalie Lariccia, Quinn Jones, Liam Jones, Dominic Corso, and Stefanos Newman.
